2026 EPIC Elvis Presley in concert release date revealed

Director Baz Luhrmann revealed in an interview in Australia on November 12 that the EPIC movie (Elvis Presley in Concert) would be released worldwide in theaters in February 2026.
At the AACTA Awards in Australia, Baz said, “When I was making ELVIS, I thought I’d look for this mythical footage. We found it. We found 50 hours or some ridiculous amount. We made this thing called EPIC, Elvis Presley in concert. It’s not a concert film, it’s not a documentary. Elvis sings and tells his story like never before. You can see I’ve said that one before.”
“February it’s going to open around the world. But the Australian premiere, the premiere in Australia, is going to happen here on the Gulf Coast in both imax and I think in that building over there.”
Baz did not give a specific date in February, but said that at the Australian premiere, it would be available in IMAX as well as regular theaters. This suggests that theaters around the world will also be showing the film in IMAX.
The film was first shown at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2025 and received a very positive response from fans and critics.
As stated in a press release, “EPiC features long-lost footage from Presley’s legendary Vegas residency in the 1970s, woven together with rare 16mm footage from Elvis on Tour, and precious 8mm from the Graceland archive, plus recordings of Elvis telling “his side of the story” rediscovered during Luhrmann’s research for his 2022 hit, Elvis.”
In October 2025, Ernst Jorgensen, the well-known Elvis historian, discussed the film briefly at an Elvis festival in Denmark. He explained what it was like working on the film and gave some insight on the decisions that were made on what to include in the film.
Also, Graceland in Memphis just announced that they would hold the first advanced screenings in the US on Elvis Presley’s birthday on January 8, 2026.

It was announced in October that Neon would distribute the film in North America, while Universal Pictures International would distribute the film in the rest of the world.
Luhrmann stated: “Now, I could not be more thrilled that our passion is matched by NEON and Universal, who will ensure this film will be seen from local cinemas in small towns, to the biggest screens in the biggest cities in the world. I personally can’t wait to TCB (Elvis’s motto: ‘taking care of business’) and take this show on the road.”
